The competition is launched between Engineering schools to set themselves apart from the others and recruit the best talent for their next intake.
« L’Etudiant » publishes an annual list of Engineering schools. The latest edition of 17 December 2020 referenced 168 Engineering schools, up from 167 and 164 in previous years, which deliver an Engineering degree authorised by the French Commission des Titres d’ingénieurs (CTI – A French accreditation Board for Engineers), based on the points obtained in 13 criteria.
To establish this ranking, « L’Etudiant » used two sets of indicators and about fifty criteria whether ranked or not: thirteen criteria used for the general classification (CG), about forty criteria for the « personalized » rankings (ranking). It was based both on certified data from the CTI and CDEFI and a questionnaire sent by the media during the summer of 2020.
